Itinerary Description


Day 1 Anchorage to Cooper Landing;  The group will take a scenic drive south along Turnagain Arm and through the Chugach National Forest to the quaint community of Cooper Landing. Gear up and raft into the heart of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. Along the way, watch for moose, bald eagles, and salmon. The Kenai River is famous for its salmon, and depending on the time of the groups visit, they may witness their incredible spawning runs.  Arrive at a Kenai lodge in the late afternoon.

Day 2  Cooper Landing; The group will spend a full day exploring the remote wilderness of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. They can hike a secluded trail and travel through several fascinating ecological communities.  The group may explore the lake by boat, stopping for scenic views and short walks.  Overnight at a Kenai lodge.

Day 3  Cooper Landing to Fox Island Wilderness Lodge; The group will take a scenic drive to the port town of Seward. Upon arrival, the group can visit the Alaska SeaLife Center or explore the waterfront of this All-American town. The group will transfer by boat to the secluded lodge on Fox Island. Overnight at a lodge on Fox Island

Day 4  Fox Island Wilderness Lodge to Seward; The group can spend the morning exploring Fox Island or relaxing . Afterwards they will take a small ship tour of glaciated Kenai Fjords National Park. This tour explores a coastline rich in wildlife and scenic beauty. The tour includes visiting a tidewater glacier and searching for marine wildlife such as sea otters, puffins (and many other bird species), harbor seals, Steller sea lions, and whales. Overnight in Seward.

Day 5  Seward to Girdwood; Today the group will transfer by boat to Seward. They will travel by road  through the Chugach National Forest to Girdwood, a quaint ski town surrounded by hanging glaciers and rugged mountain peaks. They can choose from a variety of afternoon activities: guided hiking, gold panning, biking the local trails, or relaxing at the  Alyeska Resort. Guests can ride the tram to the top of Mt. Alyeska.  Overnight in Girdwood.

Day 6  Girdwood to Anchorage/Departure; The group will travel from Girdwood to Anchorage. They will be dropped off at the Anchorage International Airport.
